Angie's Kidney Support Site™'s Purpose:
This site is dedicated to kidney failure patients on dialysis and awaiting a transplant! A lot of this site is written from a teenager's point of view who was sick since birth. That teenager was me. Back in 1990 I felt differently about what I was going through. I didn't deal with my first transplant very well with all the side effects and the changes to my appearance. Now I am 32 and was on Peritoneal Dialysis but had to switch to Hemo Dialysis in July of 2005 due to peritonitis. I am not the same as I was back in 1990. Now I appreciate my 2nd chance at life and the technology available today to enable me to live for the last 5 years while I wait for a kidney to become available. But I wanted to help others going through this for the first time, especially those who are like me who have been sick since birth, and also those who have had a hard time dealing with the changes in their life due to dialysis and renal failure. But also those having a hard time dealing with this who have had a normal life and feel like it's all been taken away. We all deal with things differently. Please, let no one judge anyone! This place is here for anyone who needs it!
I am so happy to find this I HAD to share it with all of you!! But it is ONLY Available in the U.S.A.
